Pet of the Month

Each month, the staff chooses a Pet of the Month here at Rockford Animal Hospital. The criteria to be considered for this honor include being current on appropriate vaccines, parasite testing and preventatives, and other routine healthcare for dogs or cats. In addition to the "routine", we take into account owners who have gone above and beyond the "bare minimum" in the care of their pets.

We have done this program for over 4 years now and it has been a huge success! Clients in our waiting room love reading stories about these animals and what pet owner doesn't love showing off their pet?? In addition, we send the winners a $10 Gift Certificate to be used anytime at our hospital as a way of saying "Thanks for choosing us to care for your pet!" So bring your pets in today to make sure they are up-to-date and they could be next month's winner!

August 2010 Pet of the Month
Maggie Scoby

Maggie was adopted at 5 weeks of age from a breeder in California.  She moved here to Michigan with her mom in 2006.  Maggie is a very sweet "Doxie" and her parents call her a love bug!  She loves to give kisses and keep laps warm!  Her favorite things to do are to go for car rides, chew on cow ears, eat and go for walks.  She can sit right up like a little circus dog!  She also loves to help dad drive the big truck, she sits on his lap and navigates.  She lives with mom & dad and her two best buddies, Murphy and Tuffy.
Maggie has epilepsy and has to be on daily medication.  We love Maggie because even though she has to have all kinds of tests done, she still is always sweet, gentle and kind- a real trooper!  We couldn't ask for a better patient or a better friend.
